Liverpool up 2-1 against Stoke. Crouch scored his 6th of the season; that seems fairly low for a player of his reputation, is he getting a bit 'long in the tooth?'

If you look at our shot count in the last few games we have had plenty of attempts, easily out shooting our opponents. Maybe it is a case of us not only being unable to hit the target but being unable to hit their defenders, for a deflection, either!

Well Tundra, they are 13 points behind us with a game in hand and in an abysmal run of form. Of the teams behind us, I am more concerned about Preston who are in fine form.

I still believe, as I have said on more than one occasion before, that we will be quite happy with our lot come the end of the January transfer window.

I believe that KJ knows exactly what he is doing, but it can't all be done overnight! :)

TundraWolf
15-01-2014, 01:48 PM
PNE, Brentford, Leyton Orient and Wolves are all fighting for those two coveted automatic promotion spots, with a few more pretenders to the throne. I would rather we put some distance between us and them by going on a winning streak, but am apprehensive about who KJ brings on board, not regarding their abilities but their ease in fitting in with the other players on or squad. We started the year with Griffiths and Doyle as our big guns but neither has much of a presence on the list of scorers. Football seems to be one of the most unpredictable sports out there.

Too easy, Aguero with the second, had the West Ham defenders falling over around him.

Peterborough losing 2-0 at home to Notts County.

What's happened at Posh they really have fallen away?
Earlier in the season, I would have put money on Orient falling away and Wolves and Peterborough being the top two. Plenty of time yet for Wolves to get back in the top two, but I can't see the Posh getting there.

Notts County seem to have sorted themselves out and Brentford's form is something to marvel at. I seriously hope that either Brentford or Orient can't keep it up and we fulfil our potential! :O
It could all hinge on what business we do in this final ten days of the transfer window Wokes.
TundraWolf
30-01-2014, 01:29 AM
Popular conceptions dictate that the bigger London clubs are favoured by the refs when games are close. True or not the scenario you present above, Michigan, does little to dispel this belief.

Sunderland must be relieved, first time out of the 'drop zone' in months! Phlegm artist Fletcher only put on at the 67th minute, he was not a factor in the final result.

Spurs need to bolster their defence in PL games, in fifth place yet -1 on goal differential. Losses of 3-0 to the Hammers, 5-0 to Liverpool and 6-0 & 5-1 to ManC have been their downfall.

MichiganWolf

A good block from Gerrard to stop Mulumbu's effort, not a lot between either side so far.

0-1 Liverpool, Sturridge at the far post from Suarez's cross, good work in build up from Sterling.

'Speedy' Lugano on for Olson...that'll cheer the 'Bennies' up no end :-)

Ofcourse it nust be Downing's fault for this act of God intervention!!

Almost 1-1, McAuley's header kept out by Mignolet.

Should really be 0-2, Suarez denied by the legs of Foster. Seems to be selective refereeing by the man in the middle. He's happy to book the likes of Ridgewell, but not even a word to Gerrard after a foul.

West Brom desperately need points. With Sunderland, West Ham and Crystal Palace in decent form and Fulham strengthening their squad (IMO) in the transfer window, they need to get some positive momentum going. A draw against 4th place Liverpool would be a good start for them.

Relegation race should be interesting for us "neutrals" though ;D

Poor from Toure, passing blind and just in front of his eigh**** yard area, Anichebe punishes him and Liverpool, 1-1.

Missed most of the first half but this second half has certainly brightened up a bit.

See they are fetching Vydra off, which doesn't surprise me as he looks useless.

He's not done a lot at all, i was surprised Berahino was taken off before him, his replacement Anichebe though has scored. He is also causing both Skrtel and Toure problems since he come on.

Reds have looked pretty poor this second half. But they definitely have the quality up front to steal all the points late. Credit to West Brom for negating the Liverpool midfield in the second half

A good point for Albion, definately offered more in the second half going forward.

Yep! I think they deserved a point in the end.
