Sacked by Swansea City. Another example of how football is focused on short term results after a fantastic season last year. Garry Monk to take up role as head coach for the foreseeable future.

it looks like they sacked him as they didnt know his position and if he'd quit or not...it doesn't seem like its down to bad results, more the uncertainty hanging over the club.

I think there are splits within the team too, british Vs spanish. Anyway here's another link with a slightly different POV - view external link (http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/04/michael-laudrup-sacked-by-swansea-city)

Doubt he will be out of work for long.

Well even if he wouldn't commit to long term. You would of thought they would of agreed to keep him till thee end of the season so they can secure their safety.. BIG BIG mistake in my opinion. Gary monk in charge!!! WTF. Bye bye swansie I think. That's 2 welsh clubs that have ****ed up with sacking manager's now. Hope they both go do down. To be replaced by 2 east Midlands clubs. Derby and Leicester ;D

your probably right but you dont know what goes on behind the scenes. i get the impression that he was playing hard ball and being a tool, and the swansea board were having none of it

They are claiming it's the run of bad form ... Look at the fixtures nearly all top six sides tho!

Sound familiar???

You are getting so tentative with your anti-Rush campaign ( for sacking Clough) , you hardly dare mention it directly so as to avoid the comeback .

So just in case that's your point, you need to do a bit more research. According to fans the 'problems' existed at end of last season and its a very strange bag of problems being quoted.
It is unfair to Laudrup, cos he didn't get 4 years plus some managers are given.

I do think that managers jobs shouldnt be sacrosanct and agree with certain managers who have been sacked recently, however this one does seem to be a strange one.

there clearly more to this one than meets the eye. they have a good chairman who doesn't make rash decisions. I'm sure there's been murmurs of a lack of willingness to commit to the club. it could be that he's been talking to other clubs or something along those lines.

he will find another job soon enough. will they find someone to keep them up as it was his that attracted the players.

Here's an interesting article on the matter. I found it quite biased against Laudrup, but it's certainly food for thought.

If you can't be bothered to open the link, the title of the article is "don't believe the hype over lauded Laudrup", and basically argues he has a history of leaving clubs when he it gets tough/ he isn't given money to spend... - view external link (http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2014/02/06/4598578/dont-believe-the-hype-over-lauded-laudrup?ICID=HP_FT_2)
