Maybe theres an online thing somewhere where you join a private group league, usually loads of sh1t like that knocking about near a world cup

bwfcforever
08-05-2014, 06:48 PM

There will be plenty of online fantasy Leagues to join, but Stan's idea seems easy and straightforward enough, for simpletons like itsintheblood.

I might be wrong with this statistic, but I think no team from Europe has ever won the world cup in South America? So, I think I'm going to plump for a decent priced South American team to win the trophy. Here are the latest odds.

Brazil 3/1

Argentina 9/2

Germany 5/1

Spain 7/1

Belgium 14/1

France 20/1

Colombia 22/1

Holland 22/1

Italy 22/1

Uruguay 25/1

England 28/1

Portugal 28/1

Chile 50/1

Russia 66/1

Mexico 100/1

Switzerland 100/1

USA 100/1

Ecuador 125/1

Ivory Coast 125/1

Croatia 150/1

Japan 150/1

Bosnia-Herzegovina 200/1

Ghana 200/1

Greece 200/1

Nigeria 250/1

South Korea 300/1

Australia 500/1

Cameroon 500/1

Algeria 1000/1

Costa Rica 1000/1

Honduras 1500/1

Iran 1500/1

Uruguay 25/1

that's a very tempting price ...ten bob E/W ;-)

Uruguay 25/1

that's a very tempting price ...ten bob E/W ;-)Uruguay seem decent odds at 25/1 and they won the Copa America back in 2011. They have some great players in their squad and it's not just Suarez. I think I'll stick a tenner on them.

So, no Cashley Cole, Carrick or Cleverley in the confirmed squad. Carrick & Cleverley on standby.

England squad:
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Celtic), Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Hart (Manchester City).

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Luke Shaw (Southampton), Chris Smalling (Manchester United).

Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Attackers: Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United).

Standby: John Ruddy (Norwich City), Jon Flanagan (Liverpool), John Stones (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Tom Cleverley (Manchester United), Andy Carro

Fair enough squad although personally I wouldn't have had Smalling or Jones in as definites - I'd swap them for Flanagan and Stones

Nice mix of youth and experience I think. It's about the best we have got

For once I am really looking forward to the world cup without any expectation of England doing anything.

Right okay, we are nearly there. I think as Stan suggested, let's have 3 points for correct score and 1 point for correct result.

Brazil 2 Croatia 0

Give me my points you Bolton b**t**ds. :DThis is fixed already! We can't have a Dingloid winning our league, no way was that a penalty yesterday. Anyway, it's a marathon not a sprint and I'll try and keep us updated tomorrow morning after the Spain V Holland game and our current league positions. ;)
