08-05-2014, 11:53 AM
nice one lord

08-05-2014, 01:13 PM
Aye go on then.

3 points for correct score?
1 point for correct result?

08-05-2014, 05:37 PM

08-05-2014, 06:14 PM

08-05-2014, 06:17 PM
no problem lads , I will sort it

stans , scores seem fair to me ...

anyone got any further suggestions etc , knock out ( meaning I pitch 2 posters against each other for a perfect result ..? lord v gaz etc ...who ever predicts the result wins & gains additional pts ..?

08-05-2014, 06:28 PM
I'll give it a go, long as it's not too complicated.

08-05-2014, 06:30 PM
eye cant be complicated mate , I it seems I shall be doing the scoring :blue: :blue:

anyone have some formula to work it out , like a spreadsheet ..?

08-05-2014, 06:40 PM
Maybe theres an online thing somewhere where you join a private group league, usually loads of sh1t like that knocking about near a world cup

08-05-2014, 06:48 PM
right cheers , I shall have a look round later

08-05-2014, 06:53 PM
There will be plenty of online fantasy Leagues to join, but Stan's idea seems easy and straightforward enough, for simpletons like itsintheblood.

08-05-2014, 06:55 PM
yes & me :blue: :blue: !

08-05-2014, 07:00 PM
I'm in mate!!

Have both a league and a knockout perhaps?

08-05-2014, 07:00 PM
good shout jimmy , open to any offers really ...you lads have the final say

08-05-2014, 07:13 PM
I might be wrong with this statistic, but I think no team from Europe has ever won the world cup in South America? So, I think I'm going to plump for a decent priced South American team to win the trophy. Here are the latest odds.

Brazil 3/1

Argentina 9/2

Germany 5/1

Spain 7/1

Belgium 14/1

France 20/1

Colombia 22/1

Holland 22/1

Italy 22/1

Uruguay 25/1

England 28/1

Portugal 28/1

Chile 50/1

Russia 66/1

Mexico 100/1

Switzerland 100/1

USA 100/1

Ecuador 125/1

Ivory Coast 125/1

Croatia 150/1

Japan 150/1

Bosnia-Herzegovina 200/1

Ghana 200/1

Greece 200/1

Nigeria 250/1

South Korea 300/1

Australia 500/1

Cameroon 500/1

Algeria 1000/1

Costa Rica 1000/1

Honduras 1500/1

Iran 1500/1

08-05-2014, 07:17 PM
Count me in

08-05-2014, 07:40 PM
Uruguay 25/1

that's a very tempting price ...ten bob E/W ;-)

08-05-2014, 08:04 PM
Uruguay 25/1

that's a very tempting price ...ten bob E/W ;-)Uruguay seem decent odds at 25/1 and they won the Copa America back in 2011. They have some great players in their squad and it's not just Suarez. I think I'll stick a tenner on them.

So, no Cashley Cole, Carrick or Cleverley in the confirmed squad. Carrick & Cleverley on standby.

England squad:
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Celtic), Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Hart (Manchester City).

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Luke Shaw (Southampton), Chris Smalling (Manchester United).

Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Attackers: Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United).

Standby: John Ruddy (Norwich City), Jon Flanagan (Liverpool), John Stones (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Tom Cleverley (Manchester United), Andy Carro

Fair enough squad although personally I wouldn't have had Smalling or Jones in as definites - I'd swap them for Flanagan and Stones

12-05-2014, 08:21 PM
Nice mix of youth and experience I think. It's about the best we have got

For once I am really looking forward to the world cup without any expectation of England doing anything.

12-05-2014, 10:35 PM
I think it will be a great world cup for us this year.:D

08-06-2014, 05:31 PM
Right okay, we are nearly there. I think as Stan suggested, let's have 3 points for correct score and 1 point for correct result.

Brazil 2 Croatia 0

08-06-2014, 09:23 PM
I'm in Brazil 2-1 Croatia.

09-06-2014, 01:14 PM

10-06-2014, 07:05 AM

i shall however collate the predictions & keep em in some kind of order , unless one of you chaps fancys taking it on .?

How about whoever logs in after the games have been played and can be bothered updates it each day on the other thread. Spread the load so you are not takin it all on

10-06-2014, 07:59 PM

10-06-2014, 09:01 PM
I may even buy ya a beer eventually ! ;-)

You might regret that. I've got a terrible thirst ;D ;D

12-06-2014, 11:21 PM
Give me my points you Bolton b**t**ds. :D

13-06-2014, 06:49 PM
Give me my points you Bolton b**t**ds. :DThis is fixed already! We can't have a Dingloid winning our league, no way was that a penalty yesterday. Anyway, it's a marathon not a sprint and I'll try and keep us updated tomorrow morning after the Spain V Holland game and our current league positions. ;)
