Replacement goalie seems to be Paul Gerrard, 42 years old this year and is/was? employed as a goalkeeping coach at OLDHAM ATHLETIC. What an inspired and imaginative move as our Board continue to follow their prudency policy whatever effect it may have on the level of support.

It appeared in one of Rovers bulletins and I have seen it elsewhere on the internet. The situation, as always seems to be the case with Rovers nowadays, was not made clear. We can only hope that he is not the promised replacement as Stephen Bywater has also been mentioned elsewhere. It may be - WE HOPE- that Gerrard has arrived in some sort of coaching capacity and that has not been made clear. The original description of the likely replacement would fit both men. Played at a higher level and has experienced promotion from our present level.
