The legend Chris Powell was welcomed back to the Valley with a rapturous emotional reception but his first appearance since being sacked last year could not take the shine off an excellent Charlton win under the helm of current boss Guy Luzon who is beginning to endear even the most negative of the boo boys with his team selection, playing players in the right positions and tactical nousse eg taking off JBG for Wilson to tie up the win.

Back to the scoring charts, Johan Gudmundsson struck first with a free-kick from 25-yards out on 34 minutes. Then followed a brace from Tony Watt, his sweetly struck first goal on 48 minutes was followed up on 71 minutes from a Henderson GK, Watt outmanoeuvred the Huddersfield backline to fire home.

It could've been even more goals with good chances from Wilson, Vetokele, JBG again, Eagles and Buyens but it's good to see the sustained confident football back at the Valley. The win lifts Charlton up to 12th place.
