LAML: My professional career has been shared between M,arseille and Paris.At the moment, and most probably until I retire in 2 and half years time I live 30K east of Paris.. not far from Euro Disney. Funnily enough my wife sounded me out a few weeks ago about moving down to the Montpellier region when my working career comes to an end. I know it's a lovely part of France but I have never really had the opportunity to go and visit the area. Normally we always passed through never taking the time to stop; However this year we plan to spend a week touring around and seeing what the property possibilities are all about. Do you go there yourself? |

I used to go every year for a week or a long weekend but then seemed to miss a few years through redundancy etc but went back towards the end of last summer! always love it down there, have always loved France, spent 10 months working over there a few years back just before my parents moved to Lodeve. It can get unbelievably hot in the summer so if you ever do end up in that region have a pool!! For the first 2-3 years my parents didn't have one and boy it was nasty!!! |

I know what you mean! In the Marseille region even if you get a breeze coming off the Med it can get effing hot and if you haven't got air co you think that you are going die!! At the moment nothing has been decided but one thing is sure we will not retire in the UK!! Don't want to knock my country of birth ,but going back to visit my family and my Chelsea mate is one thing but living there.......not any more:/  |
