Playing on 6 as I type.

Stopped listening to 6 when it came on. If you take out the one album remixed by Wetherall, the vast majority of their stuff is incredibly bland rubbish.

You ever interacted with the 6 Music DJ's? I've had a namecheck from Keaveney, Radcliffe and Lamacq now.

The Keaveney one was quality as I inadvertently created a comedy opportunity for him by sticking down the wrong title of an earworm. The kids found an old Billy Ocean CD (Missus's obviously) and were murdering a famous song of his. Of course, it is not called "Get out of my car" as I tweeted to Keaveney. He milked it nicely.

Saw these blow the roof off Clapham Grand on Friday night

Blimey, that's quite a cool gig for the Grand. My memories of that place are not the coolest. A poor man's Tiger Tiger!!

They've got some half decent gigs lined up, my missus wants to go to the George Clinton one. The venue reminds me of a smaller version of Koko in Camden and the main attraction is its really easy to get to and i really like The Falcon pub across the road

As cool as some of those nights are at the Grand I will always remember it for being one of the cheesiest nightclubs London has to offer.

The Falcon is a top boozer though. I don't mind admitting I spent a couple of hours in there on my Stag do on the way back from Kempton races to Central London.

In the absence of any new good music at the mo...This turned up on my ipod yesterday. 80 seconds of Black Francis genius.

Watched these at Liverpool sound city, weekend before last. They also were live in session on 6 the other day.
Enjoy.

Not a choon, but not worthy of starting a new thread for this
Johnny Marr is playing at The Brook in June for those who may be interested

First Saints get an Adidas strip and now this, a new Boards Of Canada lp.
First record since 2005's excellent Campfire Headphase.

This along with the new Tricky and Camera Obscura lps along with the Scott Walker box set means it gonna be an expensive month

Couldn't get on with that at all at first Shotts but after hearing it a few times on 6, it's a real grower.

Camera Obscura are live in session on Lauren's show on Monday btw.

They may look ridiculous considering they come from Kettering, but this is a good choon imo

New Editors tune, jury out on this one for me, may need to hear more tracks before deciding on buying the album.

Loved first 2 albums, went weird for third. They at least seem to have found their guitars again for this.

Quite apt on a day like today.

Just heard this on 6, got a real 90's Ride like feel to it.

Worth having a look at some ropey live version of it too at Rough Trade just to see the sexy blonde with the guitar!! Works for me every time.

Love the Camera Obscura album, this track is just a sublime bit of Indie Pop. Taking this with me on hols, think it will sound great driving round California!!

One of the great voices returns.

Reminds me of getting stoned at Uni to their early albums.

She still sounds fantastic.

Good to have you back Shotts. Things have changed so hopefully we will see more of this thread.

You'll note I don't put many posts here, that's because I learn quite a lot from you guys. Oh, and btw Mart, I like a good female vocal and that one was a bit good.

And following on with the female vocal theme, a modern day Kate Bush, the wonderful Jennie Abrahamson. I've seen her live and she's note perfect. Listen to this a couple of times and you'll find yourself singing it all day, although not as well as she does:
