The bedroom tax.
I have read today about about a couple up north who have found a loophole in the bedroom tax. This couple aren't scroungers and have worked most of there life, but due to ill health will be effected by this tax.Now thanks to Thatcher's goverment( you have heard me right). They introduced 1985 housing act, under section 326.It states if a box room has floor area of 50 but no more than 70 square feet it cannot be taxed has a habital room. In this city, where the couple are there are 5,000 people effected by this tax and only 50 smaller houses or flats available. |

re: The bedroom tax.
More Left Wing propaganda! It is not a " Tax ",how can it be a tax when it's money that's being given away by the state ( so OUR money in effect ) which therefore makes it a benefit received. A lot of this housing is Social Housing,Council houses with two, three or four bedrooms being lived in by just one or two people. It probably is unfair that people can't stay in a long term home until the end of the days but with the Welfare State being such a huge drain on resources it seems reasonable to ask people to give up homes they themselves have brought up 2,3,4,5 kids in to allow younger families to do the same rather than make kids sleep 3 to a room or on floors or settees! A lady of 65 who we are close friend's with has recently swopped her 3 bed home for a one bedroomed house within her housing association and she's very happy. I don't see why the taxes i pay should enable people to under occupy a house on which the tenant is having the rent paid for them. We haven't got the money anymore due to Blair/Brown/Balls spending like fools and as the Labour treasury minister so crassly admitted with his leaving note left on his treasury desk..." There's Nothing left,we've spent it all ". Of course though...it's all Thatcher's fault. |

Particularly when there are people who pay thir full rent who over-occupy.The Labour lot are also prone to pointing out that there aren't many empty social housing properties to ****-stir, ignoring the fact that that people can and do swap, as your frind. One of they key whingers about this non-tax is Liam Byrne - he of the note you wrote about. This Labour lot are absolute scum. |

Fcking laughable...the country is going down the sh1tter and haemorrhaging money hand over fist and this pr1ck comes up with his own " Gay Marriage " moment. Pathetic. |

re: The bedroom tax.
Hi,as i said before this doesn't effect my house or my moms.We both pay full council tax,our houses are paid for outright.I also pay tax,ive got 2 pensions.I used to pay tax on my BT earnings and my business.I earned the money and paid my tax in full. Now back to this bedroom benifit, there are people who want to downsize.but there are are no smaller properties.A lot of workers get housing benifit, down south people on good wages get housing benifit. |

The idea is a good one. The execution of it, as your example shows, leaves a lot to be desired and shows that a lot of tweaking is needed for exceptional cases. Same for parents who have kids in the forces. Housing benefit should be reduced for people who rent privately who have spare rooms, too. |

Rarely lean to the right but Mick is right. If they don't own the place then they should move to smaller accommodation to let the larger immigrant families have their gaffe. |

re: The bedroom tax.
They need to focus on the immigrants with mansions and a fortune to live off. Ive earned my money since the age of 14 and been in full time jobs since 18. Got a mortgage and can just about survive with mine and girlfriends wages. Where they get everything paid for and more spending money than i get for bring...algerian!. |
