OPERATION STAY UP - What form's needed from now on in?
Based on the average of the last 3 League Two seasons, to finish one place above the drop, here's what we need to do:
Win 10, Draw 16, Goals For = 45, Goals Against = 64, POINTS=46.
We have 39 games left, so to achieve the above & stay up we need to:
Win one game in every four.
Lose one game in every three.
Lose only 13 more games all season.
The above required form means we need to start gaining points at a rate of 1.2 points per game right now and keep it that way. This rate of points gain is the form of a team finishing only 16th in the last three seasons.
In terms of goals scored & conceded:
The last 3 seasons shows one goal scored per game just keeps you up and we are achieving that.
But, more than 1.4 goals per game conceded and you're down. Our goals conceded is currently 3 per game so the stats prove what most are saying about the defence.
So basically what we need to do to stay up is to change our current crap form only to that of a team capable of finishing 16th in League Two. Is that too much of an ask for the owner, team and manager we have?
(As a tiny ray of hope to finish, as few as 35 points would have stayed up in the 2015/2016 season.)
