RIP to a comedy legend.
I know millions loved him. I don't remember him ever making me laugh so have tended to avoid anything he was in over the last 45 years or so.
Undoubtedly a British icon.
‘What a lovely day for staying in and varnishing the wife’s legs!’ As a kid I used to like listening to his Sunday lunchtime radio show (and others) even if a lot of it went over my head. Funny, over the last few days I have been listening to the non PC outrageously camp Julian and Sandy sketches from Round The Horne. You would never hear anything like that today. Some great comedy back then in my formative years. RIP Doddy.
I remember hearing also that ken Dodds dads dogs dead.
One of the greatest without doubt. Not every joke he made was particularly funny but he hit you so rapidly with jokes that once a really funny one got you laughing you found yourself even finding the average joke funny until you were practically laughing at anything he said. Another icon has left us.>:(
I really liked him, funny without profanities and smuttiness, rip to a comic ledgend
By Jove.....I bet he didn’t see that coming!
What a lovely day for sticking a copper rod up
Andre Previn’s trouser leg and saying to him...”how’s that for a lightening conductor”.
RIP to Doddy....the only man on earth who could eat an apple through a tennis rackets strings!
Thats only a matter of opinion though isn't it, and its good that we all like and dislike different things.
Im sorry to hear this news about Ken Dodd, but I can't remember ever finding anything he or Tommy Cooper did either, to be amusing. :(
And yes I do like Michael McIntyre by the way, it might be an age thing.
