Sausage chips and beans. They also had this weird flourescent lime coloured drink which I thought was pretty exotic at tge time.

There was one upstairs above Burtons and the entrance was up the path to the church across from the back door of Boots.
Was it called Whitehall?
I used to love the chips and gravy at the Herringthorpe leisure centre.

Yes it was the Whitehall Cafe run by Rotherham Council. Used to love going in there. Best Shepherds Pie in Town.Quote:

Ring O' Bells on Church Street where the Minster Gardens are now. Used to be next door to Danny Williams' sport shop so I could go and gaze longingly at the stuff in there when I was done with my tea and scone while Mum had a 2nd cuppa and a cigarette.
