Personally I’m hoping Spuds have come in with a higher bid, which will in turn alert Man City into thinking, hang on a minute we better sign this lad, meaning more dosh for United

So it seemed a few weeks ago when Wilders signed his new deal that the co-owners were gonna put some dosh in ... but no he has to raise it from the saleable assets in the playing squad.
If we're to believe Sky, who are generally on the money, then he's having a medical this afternoon and will be gone before the end of the week. http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...urnemouth-move
£10m? I don't think it's enough, but if it's £10m up-front, with possible add-ons/installments and sell-on clause (perhaps even something linked to his international appearances) then it sweetens it for me.
End of the day, he's a promising talent but hasn't established himself as a regular starter here. His physicality/power needs improvement and that could take a couple of seasons.
IMO this is nowehere near as bad a deal as the peanuts we got for Maguire.
We can only hope Spurs offer £20m, but I think it's too much.
Thats a leap on your behalf. It was reliably stated that CW's funds had been provided by the owners without selling Brooks, and that if Brooks was sold then a good proportion of the money would go into CW's budget. At no point has it been suggested that we had to sell before we spent.
The rest, we'll just have to see how it plays out. Never a dull moment, eh..?
