I remember listening to Turn Loose the Swans and two of the early Anathema albums when I was in my Doom phase 15 or so years ago. Couldn't get into them at the time but might give them another spin.

Turn Loose the Swans-Awesome

The Angel and the Dark River
Here's a track and band that was rarely out of the CD player for very long:

Never a big fan of the Slaughter of the Soul album though. It was their Black Album.

Currently catching up with paperwork zoning out to this. I'm definitely right. This album is a beezer
Skacel, My Decaying Leg don't lay a glove on these guys
Youtubes been banned here but At the Gates are f@cking quality. Very good live too
You just keep picking the tunes for me as ive been stuck in front of my computer doing paper work for two days and need something to stop me from jumping overboard. Tunes are helping
Not sure what your colleague's will make of the stuff I'm posting! XD
This album hit the sweet spot between accessibility and underground cred. Definitely my favourite Death album.

Although on Human and on neither of the above, "Lack of Comprehension" is a fantastic death metal tune
As for my colleagues I use my ipod with headphones to listen to my tunes unlike the local wallopers who subject everyone to Kazimba or whatever the f@ck its called with no headphones. Its a f@cking disgrace to music. Absolutely no talent to it
Edit and my Mexican mate who sits down form me who loves Journey and plays them over and over. Nobody in this day and age loves Journey
Does it just have to be heavy metal on this thread now?
Hip-hop fans will appreciate this album as well.

Had my first blast of the latest Ride album last night. Not bad at all.
