World Cup Prediction League
World Cup is only a few days away and I, at least, am incredibly excited. Both the national teams I root for most (US and Italy) are missing out this cycle, but it's still a great event. Maybe just because there's several footy games every day, or because you get so many different styles and players from around the world. FIFA may be the biggest collection of scumbags on the planet, but they're the evil we've got to live with for this event (for now).
Anyways, here are the rules.
1. Each poster will prediction who they think will advance from each group.
2. The team you list first is who you think will finish first. The team you list second is who you think will finish second.
3. Posters are awarded 3 points for correctly predicting a team and group placement. Posters are awarded 1 point for correctly predicting the team.
For example, if I predicted the following:
Group A - Uruguay, Egypt
If Uruguay wins the group and Russia finished second, I would get 3 points for my correct selection and placement of Uruguay. If Russia won the group and Uruguay finished second, I would get 1 point for correctly predicting Uruguay to advance to the knockouts.
When we get to the knockouts, we'll go back to our traditional prediction league rules: Predict the final result and first scorer of the match.
But here are mine:
Group A - Uruguay, Egypt
Group B - Spain, Portugal
Group C - France, Denmark
Group D - Argentina, Croatia
Group E - Brazil, Switzerland
Group F - Germany, Mexico
Group G - England, Belgium
Group H - Poland, Colombia
