That depends.
Rafa is paid a kings ransom in wages. Not many clubs would be willing to pay him that, in my opinion.
However, Ashley stated that he can have every penny the club generates in profit and it comes down to wheeling and dealing like the other big clubs are doing which makes them look like they're spending cash on the hip yet are literally playing swap shop.
I agree that Rafa has to be given what he "needs" but we also have to work on a careful basis of not mixing needs with wants and breaking wage structures to extents of putting us in jeopardy if things don't work out, leaving us with long term overpaid mercenaries.
Just remember one thing. rafa or no Rafa we are the latter choice for top players who can't get moves to the elite clubs or the London type club scene.
Yep and let's hope it does inch forward from here.
Fingers crossed it all works out. I want the feel good days back of higher up battling and being feared by the elite clubs rather than looked upon as paupers.
