Never liked him...or them for that matter, not proper music.
Same as that big fat bloke who used to stick his tongue out.
The 80's were very poor musically.

Madness were great.
You were already old by 1980 and not the type of person they were appealing to Des.
Did you enjoy election night?
'Did you enjoy election night?'

In fairness to Rod Stewart, I don't think that his voice has deteriorated over the years, unlike Paul McCartney, whose has. I'm not knocking him for this, it's just an age thing. Some are fortunate to retain the quality and some are not. Paul McCartney is also a few years older than Rod Stewart.
I liked Rod's early stuff until about 1975, then he jumped on the bandwagon and churned out mediocre rubbish.
In the 80's Ultravox made a living off one decent song, the Police gave out a very tinny irritating sound. Then you had the posers like Rick Astley, in fact most were posers with the daft mullet hairstyle.
There was Jim hi yi yi yi Diamond and Juice Jones.
Memorable songs include Star Trekkin and John Ketley is a weatherman. Compared to those Buster Bloodvessel looked like Pink Floyd.
Glad i was busy bringing up a family in the 80's.
Don't forget Two pints of lager and a packet a crisps and Gordon is a Moron, flippin ace. (or was it the 70s?)
All about opinions I guess and tastes.
The 80s were great for music.
