As for 57 years I think your maths is poor as we won the Fairs Cup in 1969, 47 years ago and the FA Cup was 1955, 62 years ago. I don't want to get into the Fairs Cup issue, as I know Sland fans think it was a nothing cup but I refer you to Barcelona's honours below (one of the top 3 clubs in the world) and they have their 3 Fairs Cups alongside Champions League, Cup Winners Cups and LA Liga's. Arsenal are the same with their honours list.

A big club shows its size by how much loyalty is shown by the MANY, even in times of strife.
I'd say we are a big club.
Sunderland should also be a big club and once was. It appears that their fans prefer the minnow tag as it stands.
There's still a bit of hope for Sunderland to get back among the big clubs, but it has to be much sooner rather than later or all is lost.
I'm not even saying that as a dig or a joke. I'm being serious.
In that case they are not a big club as the MANY f*ck off every time they are relegated ( the SOS is less than half full )
