I still think your ownership is property related coupled with the restrictions China has regarding overseas assets.
However, yes it is a roll of the dice, but some choose never to enter the casino, others bet bad money trying to recoup their losses.
When I was younger I wanted the Millers to sign (relatively) expensive players, but now I’m just happy to have a club to watch that might not go bust next week.
Two things - assuming the player recruitment guys have done their job:
1...You actually have a player with "potential" - so an actual asset on the balance sheet.
2...The lift to the fans is measurable in season ticket / shirt sales.
Rotherham United fans have had the opposite side of the investment coin and to be honest it feels cheap and nasty after actually being relegated. Only surviving would provide future talk of canny management.
Losing all that championship dosh for say £3 million on a few players does sound a bit daft - but it ain't my money - however risk / reward would sway me to have a punt.....but the players selection criteria would be my greatest priority
And yet we find the championship just as difficult as you do .
Seeing our talent sold on whilst affecting our ability to compete at championship level isn't anymore bearable than spending buttons , in fact in some respects its worse , at least we had the players to keep us competitive and saw it disappear to other club's .
Relegation is relegation .
The reality is that Luke Thomas won't keep us up , it's keeping Pinnock , Lindsay , Brown , Mowatt and Woodrow at Oakwell that will see to that .
