Seems that the manager's first task is to ensure that the team will be in peak condition for the start of the coming season and will not be wanting for fitness levels. This demonstrates his professionalism but I do hope he does not push them too hard especially the likes of Tapping with his history of breaking down. Hopefully we will see the fruits of this hard graft come the start of the season which I am very much looking forward to. Mon the South.
Queens lose their first preseason friendly 3-2 at Cowdenbeath despite leading 2-0 :(
I was a bit surprised that twitter didn't cover todays match, especially sine they covered the "Hasbean" match last weekend.
"I wouldnt be too concerned with the pre season results. Who scored?"
You might not be concerned, but I am already!
I have been rattling on about getting decent pre season opposition,so that we can see any signs as to how we can shape up.I would rather be beaten by some half decent team regardless of it being a friendly or not,but to be turned over by a p1ss poor team that scraped through surviving in the bottom league..........JEEZO!!.
This could be one hell of a long season.Hopefully my interest in the Queens' fortunes will last a wee bit longer than October this season. This result may suggest something similar.
I see where you are coming from but although Queens lost 3-2 vs. Cowdenbeath after being 2-0 up, the fact that the second half had many changes to the starting 11 may have been a factor. I think the games at Annan and Fleetwood will be stronger teams and this will give the supporters a better gauge as to where the team is before the League Cup starts.
Cowdenbeath played a host of their under 20s in the second half.
