Can't have escaped your notice but we have a midfielder currently playing on loan who has a goal threat from midfield. Yes, a goal threat from midfield, surely as rare as a good home performance this season. I reckon he is unlikely to to be retained by Celtic in the summer and if I was the boss , would be looking to tie up this busy midfielder.

yep signing him up should be done now on pre contract so he cant be poached at end of season ,but the usual will happen we will be waiting until the end of the transfer window and youl see a couple of the dreggs signing ,then it will be same as last few sasons we will rely on loanees when the january window opens .

What makes you think we can afford him ? Can’t see him being on cheap wages at Celtic

Probably not but hopefully surplus to requirements at Celtic and a deal could be struck.

Yup I liked Joe first time around and like him even more now as his tireless running with that enthusiasm is simply infectious while bringing a real goal threat from the middle of the park which otherwise would not exist. Therein lies the problem, these players are rare indeed and I am sure that others will be sniffing about looking to sign him come the end of the season when I believe he is being released by Celtic. If we can afford him and Joe is happy with staying with the Queens then it is a no brainer that we should be pulling out all the stops to get this talented player. Fingers crossed then.

Unfortunately, as you say , these goals will not be ' under the radar' and will be noticed by other Championship managers with most of them being able to offer better terms than us . You never know though , he might decide that this is a place he enjoys his football.

Great player Joe and he does enjoy playing for us unlike when he was at Livingston which should give us hope to sign him when he gets released from celtic at the end of the season.
