Interesting read 53 buddy. Days gone by methinks !
I did not realise he was a local kid. I remember him playing for Derby and flying down the wing banging crosses over and taking free kicks. It seems we have him to blame for coloured boots. Can't bloody stand em. All football boots would be black if I had my way. :mad:

Ditto. I must have been very young when I got my first boots discarded by my brother. I just recall them being a bit big and incredibly heavy. Although they were now mine they were just not needed to kick a Frido around. A bit later I got my first own new boots which met the necessary requirements of my dad, namely a rock hard toe and adequate protection for the ankles. He had no time for the low cut, soft toed Italian boots my brother now wore.
I remember as a lad looking through the windows and dreaming of boots I could not afford....
