Would rather we have Stuart Petrie looking after the squad of players until we find a suitable ( player ) manager.
Thinking we should avoid rushing into appointing a new manager quickly .
Arbroath are one of the biggest part - time teams in Scotland and as Sherrin has proved, managing Arbroath is a great career move for an ambitious player manager .
Surely Petrie can manage the team until the board take their time and wait until they target the right candidate.
Would rather we wait if none of the applicants are ticking all the right boxes.
As long as we are still actively looking for new players...:s
From what he has said to the press, it looks like PS is strongly in favour of SP getting the job. It would seem like the safest option with the commitment he already has to the players signed for this season.
Deffo it is a no brainer if SP wants the job give it to him as he KNOWS the old and new players and get him a new co or assistant Manager.
If a new person comes in and SP is not involved that would be a disaster as pre-season starts today.
The workload of training and fitness sessions, scouting players and team selection is not easy.
Stuart Petrie deserves an opportunity, but the previous template of having a player manager and assistant manager was a great success.
Combining the two roles of player manager can have a huge influence both on and off the park.
Stuart Petrie has the experience to manage the team in the short term until we find a suitable manager .
There is no rush - we should take out time.
If none of the candidates are suitable we can continue to keep looking.
Managing Arbroath is a great first step on the managerial ladder, so this is a very attractive position for the right person.
