FA Cup 5th Round v Arsenal in 1969.
I queued for 4 hours in the snow and freezing temperatures to get a ticket.
The match was called off because of the weather and I was away in Kent for the rearranged date.
Saw the "highlights" on a tiny black and white TV in the grotty digs I was in.
My mates told me there was a fantastic atmosphere with a huge crowd - and we won 1-0.
I still have the ticket, complete with stub!

Great match. Tony Brown scored after 69 mins or something like that. The Brummie Road cascaded forward. I was near the back and turning round it was empty for about 20 yards behind me. How people never got crushed I don’t know.Quote:

Having missed out on a cup final ticket the previous season, despite being at the semi final, my dad decided we would do all the cup games the following season, collecting the stubs in order to gain a final ticket. He didn't drive so we did them all by train. What a disappointment that semi final was! We barely had a shot and Ossie let an Alan Clark shot in that Crighton would have stopped with one arm tied behind his back.
I finally got to see Albion play at Wembley v Port Vale. Great day out. We had a thriving Gloucester supporters branch back then and comfortably filled a coach.
The next time was Derby. :blue:
