In a match Lee Bowyer described as 2 points lost , Charlton drew 1 - 1 with Southend at the Valley.

Despite Southend going down to 10 men for the last hour after Dru Yearwood was red carded for a foul on Jonny Williams. the Add1cks were unable to make their numerical advantage count.

In fact Stephen Humphrys opened the scoring for Southend on 22 minutes, and it wasn't until the 2nd half when Ben Reeves equalised on 60 minutes.

The pairing of Tariqe Fosu and Mark Marshall further forward didn't quite work out as Charlton continue to rue suspensions and the loss of chief goal scorer Karlan Grant to Huddersfield. Though Josh Parker made an impact on his introduction in the 2nd half.
