Ah the golden days of British comedy.
Didn't need too much props or fancy stuff, just lots of imagination and good acting.
Anyway I hope you had a good laugh down memory lane.

I know most of you would have seen the major movies of the time like Godfather, Casino, A Clockwork Orange etc, but here's another 3 really good shows:
1) Blow. Another excellent johnny Depp performance. Now I rarely am affected by movies, but I was almost on the verge of shedding a tear for George Jung.
2) The Wolf of Wall Street - Leonardo diCaprio. Now I hated Leonardo at first, all that lovey dovey Titanic mushiness. Kids swooning over him, including my daughter. Thought he was just a 'chic magnet' with no real talent for acting. But boy oh boy, how wrong could I get. I now have a very healthy respect for his acting. This was another of his 'greats.'
And perhaps if most of you have already seen these 2, then I suspect very few or maybe even none may have caught the following.
It's not really an old film but it's entirely in black and white, owing to it's low budget. Low budget it may be, but it's a really a good one to watch. It's akin to something like Trainspotting and Ferris Bueller's Day Off
3) Clerks - It's only cost around US$27,000 to make, but grossed over 3 million at the box office.
Do catch it for some laughs and a bit of realism as well.
‘Django Unchained’ is my favourite Leonardo diCaprio film, Rom. Be warned, it’s a tad bloodthirsty.
I've seen Clerks, good film but please don't compare it to Ferris, an all time classic and source of many of my oft-repeated and friend-repelling one liners, and the reason I chose Danke Schoen as my karaoke crooner.
On the subject of B/W, name the 'iconic' British 1968 film shot partly, and apparently randomly, in colour and partly black and white.
Can't remember the name of the movie but 2 Dutch lads have just completed making a 60 minute film on the Joker's youth and how he became his later self. They had no budget.
It appears that one of the Hollywood major producers also has the idea of making a "Joker prequel" and the 2 lads are hoping to be asked to get involved......
A splendid film, and, if its trivia that you are after it also featured both Captain Mainwaring and Trigger's dad amongst the cast list. It was partly shot at Cheltenham College, a few miles away from where I was incarcerated in a similar institution but as I was only in the 3rd form then, the limit of our rebellion was a flirtation with smoking in the woods - certainly no tiger scenes in the local cafe.
I have Clockwork Orange on DVD. Will watch it again some day soon.
