Barnsley are showing serious interest in Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood, Sky Sports News understands.
The Tykes are keen to strengthen their goalkeeping unit this month and provide further competition for vice-captain Adam Davies and Nick Townsend.
Eastwood has had an excellent season so far at Oxford, keeping nine clean sheets in 32 appearances.
He joined Oxford on a free transfer from Blackburn in 2016 and has made over 100 appearances for the League One club.
Should he move this month it will be the first time the 28-year-old has done so for a transfer fee. After spending time in non-league football following release by Huddersfield as a trainee, Eastwood played for Bradford City.
He spent the 2010-11 season at Oxford but did not make an appearance before spells with Halifax and Portsmouth.
