RIP Sir Tom a football legend for PNE & England.
Rip Tom,...from just another Claret...
Peace be with you Sir Tom Finney.
Rotherham fan here,
R.I.P TOM FINNEY
The last of the "names" my Dad used to talk about with pride.
When talking about Football my dear old Dad always used to hark back to the days of Finney, Lawton, Wright, Matthews, Mortenson, Lofthouse and the Robledo Brothers.
All of them in that great Stadium in the sky now...God Bless them all.
"To dictate the pace and course of a game, a player has to be blessed with awesome qualities. Those who have accomplished it on a regular basis can be counted on the fingers of one hand – Pele, Maradona, Best, Di Stefano, and Tom Finney." (Stanley Matthews)
R.I.P Sir Tom.
A sad day for you in Preston, but in truth a sad day for the whole of football with the passing of a true great.
I was once at a function at Deepdale, back in the 1980s, at which he was present. To add to his football, I found out that day he was a true gentleman.
Our own Jimmy McIlroy told me that he was the best player he ever played against. That's good enough for me.
RIP Sir Tom. An absolute legend. Last of the gentlemen era.

Sir Tom Finney was without doubt one of England's all time greats and everyone who knew him has said what a lovely and modest gentleman he was.
From a Burnley fan please accept my condolences at the sad loss of a Preston and England all time great.
And another tribute to the wonderful Tom Finney.
