Sorry, don't seem to be able to link a pic from photobucket anymore.
Good to see you posting Robus, try using tinypic.com as an alternative.

It sounds as if something ominous is imminent Robus. Could this be a candidate for the Celebrity RIP thread? :O
So here's the sad end to the bandstand. The tradesman came by this morning and finished hauling off the deck. The cedar had reached the end of its service life, and the posts supporting the structure were rotten through. It's a sad loss as the cost to replace it with something comparable would be in the range of $15,000-20,000. For that kind of money there is long list of projects we would do first. I'll probably plant a tree on the spot. Those crabapples along the fence aren't doing so well either.

The bandstand as it will fondly be remembered:

A sad day mate that's for sure. I must admit I didn't understand the post to begin with without the photo, but it all makes sense now.
Nice to see you posting again.
Sad day indeed.
Feels like I've lost an overseas aunt or something ;D
On a serious note, good to see you posting robus.
Ode to the Bandstand:
You are my bandstand, my only bandstand
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my bandstand away away
With respect to Songwriter(s) Jimmie Davis, Charles Mitchell (disputed)
The Duane Eddy version is instrumental and you can have hours of fun singing along to it! ;D
RIP Bandstand. I will never forget you!
A window back into the good days on this board that's for sure.
