Either Robinson has lost the plot completely or that lineup doubles as his resignation letter.
The thought of Liam Donnelly (the 2010s Kevin Christie) up against Griffiths and Forrest is shuddering and don't even get me started on Sammon starting.
I've not seen a more ridiculous Motherwell lineup since McCall started Stevie Hammell in central midfield in the 2011 SCF.
A very odd line up. If it doesn't work.....
Indeed. It's one of these ones where previously a dull 0-2 defeat would be quickly forgotten, do this and lose 0-2 or 0-3 and it gets massively analysed.
Arguably the proof of this team won't be known tonight but - if we go back to a supposedly stronger eleven - Saturday afternoon. If Robinson shuffles tonight, gets thumped but beats Hearts, it's a good call - even with a very uncomfortable Thursday and Friday in between.
Pretty sure we all don't mind the egg on our faces! As someone once said ... "It's a funny old game Saint" ;D
Absolutely.
Even if we lose on Saturday - and at Parkhead when it comes - we've probably done enough to keep our heads above water into the next run of 'winnable' games.
There's massive pressure there ofc as a slump will see us in real trouble but if we can find just a little more consistency then games against St Johnstone, St Mirren, Killie and Hamilton could see us have some breathing space into January.
