Queens v Ayr United 2020
Disappointed that our home game against the Honest Men has been switched to Friday night 13th of March with a 7.05pm kick off as this will certainly affect the attendance and the good atmosphere this game usually generates. Also I would expect the hospitality figures to be well down.

It’s a nightmare for Queens and they don’t receive any compensation from the league for lost revenue

This is something that must be addressed at the highest level I'm afraid.
We've already lost out having the Dundee game switched to a Friday night, - and now our local derby has been ruined.
Ayr Utd would have brought 750 to 1000 fans down to Palmerston on the Saturday and a club like Queens cannot afford to lose that type of income without some sort of compensation. On top of that companies book the hospitality when they see the fixture list and they will simply cancel when its moved to a Friday night.
The local turn out will be badly affected as people have other things planned on a Friday night, so the crowd will be anything up to 1500 less than expected on the Saturday. Add the programme sales, lucky tickets etc plus the revenue from the pie shops and the Arena itself and that's effectively a players wages for a season lost.
It's just not cricket (or football) and unless or until compensation for loss of income is factored into the equation, - then the status quo cannot continue.
TV has killed football as a spectator sport and it seems hell-bent on ensuring that the lower leagues are eliminated altogether, - without so much as a thought for how some teams are going to survive.

We can no longer attend this game. What a disaster this TV ‘deal’ is ....
