This was the team:
Fisher, Buckley, Barnes, Carter, Hart (Mansell, 54), Mols (Vale, 68), Hardcastle, Tomlinson, Evans, Simmonds (Paton, 82), Butterworth.
A very young team with several of the best ones missing. Seven of the starting XI were ****agers.
Leicester's team included two multi-million-pound signings.
Perhaps not so surprising a result, in this light.
Charley Doyle and Magloire were unavailable, as well as some of those on the first team fringe.
Add those two, along with Nuttall, Travis, Grayson, Wharton and Jack Doyle, and it would be a much more experienced, dangerous team.
Can't believe 2 played that game and came on as sub's tonight!
I forgot that Matty Platt is out on loan too.
In theory, we COULD put out the following Under-23 team:
Raya
Nyambe Platt Wharton Doyle (Jack)
Rankin-Costello Travis Tomlinson Grayson
Nuttall Brereton.
Now, I'd like to that XI in action!
The only problem with our Development Squad is that it's top-heavy with central defenders and central midfielders. Like Mowbray, Johnson has had to rely on players being versatile.
I used to have a interest in the under 23 team but this season I havnt shown as much
So when I have seen our past few results I have reacted without looking into it without any great detail
That team is very young and totally agree that it will be a great learning curve.
Everton on FRIDAY at Leyland.. Doesn't get any easier, does it? Games coming thick and fast..
Good luck lads..! :)
