That's a good point 53. In the wider context which the original post was about, I'd say Bomber shouldn't make the list as many of those on the list reached way beyond their respective supporters. Its very subjective and as Albion fans, he certainly is iconic. Shearer isn't on the list neither is Dalglish but if you asked Liverpool or Newcastle fans this question, they certainly would be.
Dalglish was Scottish. Bomber was iconic for us but not nationally.
The trouble with Bomber was he never had any stand out traits. Hardly ever celebrated a goal, seemed very shy and modest.
You can't think of any stand out funny things Bomber did.
All he ever did was play for us for twenty years, score loads and loads of goals and broke every record at the club.
The bottom line is that if you asked a hundred people the question very few of that one hundred would pick the same ten. As many of you have stated, it's all a matter of opinion. What would be interesting is that if you did ask one hundred people you could then count the number of votes and show a top ten from those votes.
