Millburn Avenue is named after the burn - it rose between the first and second Craigs and the Lower Burn joined it in what is now Queen Street.
As stated in earlier post it rose in Craigs near what is now Craigs Farm through Barkerland and under the railway line near what is now the bus garage down Millburn Avenue to Milldamhead then on down Brooms Road past Robertsons Wood Yard (Morrisons) where it was joined by the Lower (Lore) Burn in Queen Street and so on to the Millhouse Dam with its tanneries, kilns etc. A smaller burn called the Gutter of Calsay rose near Munches Street and down Bank Street (the Stinking Vennel).
The underground Mill Burn flooded last year and flooded gardens at the bottom of Millburn Avenue .....
