No winners here - only losers.
A young man lost his life in what was deemed a tragic accident.
Why do we always have to have a scapegoat?
My advice is take Trump's compensation offer, use it wisely and move on.
The unfortunate perpetrator will be devastated and frankly I see no great inclination from our Government to seek extradition for a horrific traffic misjudgement.
But it wasn't an accident,it was dangerous driving from the American bitch.. Get her extradited and then on trial for murder.. Needs a jail sentence..
she won't be devastated, she will be laughing her tits off at the Brits ..Its obvious when the bitch decided to cut and run that she knew what she was doing,if she had any decency about her she would have admitted dangerous driving in the first place..
I'm sure you've done it Alf, popped out on the wrong side of the road in the motorhome in France? I know I have.
She should have stayed to face the music, but the Yanks shoved her on a Hercules and off she went.
Is anything going to bring the poor lad back? No - so move on!
Justice for the family BT..Why should she be any different to others ,just because she was in a privileged position ..
I totally agree with the above BT, except that I believe the Home Office has put in an extradition request. There does seem to be something odd about this case though, far from trying to come to terms with their loss and moving on, as you suggest might be the wise thing to do, the family appear to be set on the opposite course. They are rarely off the TV, they've been to the USA and met Trump in the White House, they have specialist lawyers advising them, a group of over 50 people were refused admission to a Church Hall where Raab was holding a hustings, they are threatening to organise blockades of US bases, they even have a spokesman. They claim to be 'devastated' because Boris has said he doesn't expect her to be extradited. What is the problem with that, if that's the info he's getting from the USA ? Do they want him to lie to them ? The whole saga has been turned into a soap opera, it seems quite deliberately, and the family and the people advising them seem determined to ensure it's a long running soap opera. But why, who is instructing them, who is guiding them, who is financing all of this ? This is not the normal behaviour of a grieving family, there seems to be a hidden agenda driving this, but what is that agenda, and who is driving it ? I have no idea.
It's not me sinkov, I can assure you of that. :blue:
Well. if my Son had been killed in this way and the perpetrator had fled the country aided by her host nation I would have tried to move heaven and earth to bring her to justice. Some on here would be more sanguine about it apparently.
I don't know about the financial position of the Dunn family, do you? But I would be prepared to spend all my spare money on doing this.
If the driver had been, say, an Indian (we also have an extradition arrangement with India) and they had acted like the USA, wouldn't you expect our Government to have put pressure on them?
But no. The USA are refusing to allow her to face justice and we are simply sucking up to them.
And yes, it was an accident but it was also dangerous driving which cost a life. Are you saying that anyone who is the victim of dangerous driving should accept it without justice being served and move on?
I think you would feel very differently if the victim was one of your loved ones.
Contrition or retribution?
Nicked from Corinthians 1.13:8 "Love always protects, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
I lost a son. 20 years on it still kills me, but hating someone or "needing justice" is not going to bring him back.
Much better to find a way to stop these tragedies. The country lanes in that region are something else. Ask the Coffin Dodger?

But she didn't cut and run Alfie, she stayed at the scene of the accident, she co-operated with the police, then it was taken out of her hands, she was instructed by the US government to get on a USAF plane and fly to the USA. It's wrong, but it's not her fault, she's just a pawn in this diplomatic game, she's simply done what she was told to do by her government.
