Unusual word for Wordl. I’d considered and rejected it on the third guess and then it became the only call:
Par
1g
2g
2g 2y
5g
Also a 3. Long search on second go and seemed to be the only possibility with that vowel combination.
1g
1g 1y
5g
With the 3s again today:
3y
1g 2y
5g
😆
Sorry, pup, can’t help you. I’m with the birdies. Think you’ll have to take your chances with Howdy!
1g 2y
2g 2y

Well done, Mr and Mrs ELK! Always great to hear news like this. I’ll be celebrating 50 years next year (all being well) and know it takes a huge commitment and hard work.
Very classy, Eddy!
3 here, magic-ed out of a good initial haul of yellows:
3y
3y
5g
Get a room, you two!
Oh, wait…
Par for me and a bit lucky on a multiple choice on the third go. Pleased considering the crappy start.

I was also one of the screen starers after going through an awful lot of unused letters.

Bad day at the office (not literally like Raging!) had me burning on the fifth go (remarkably like Ronners!) to get any joy within six tries.
Those of you getting it in 3 did remarkably well.
...
I’d say you’re right, CAM - especially when it comes to vowels. Throw in the less used U and we older gents struggle to move outside our set patterns!
Thought there were going to be loads of possible answers after first go. Lucky second go took me to a place where there was only going to be one.
2g
4g

Other than having the foresight to buy a ****load of Apple shares, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Had a great ride and don’t have any regrets.
A most enjoyable competition, Brin, and a great tussle with you and others for the top spot. There’s always this feeling that somebody’s going to have a 20+ pointer and nip in front!
As always...
Had the correct word at the third go but kept rejecting it for what seemed a better option.
Did that for two more goes when eventually I realised the error of my ways.
So, a wasteful 5. Glad...
Thanks, Millerstale. I've seen a few photos on FB now and it all looked very convivial!
(Thanks also, Brin, for commenting.)
I decided to get up for it and I'm glad I did. Restored my faith in the fact that we have footballers who want to play, given the right motivation and instructions that play to their strengths.
...
Excellent, CAM! Thank you!
Classy finish, Howdy. Very well done!
Got into all kinds of trouble on the green. Clearly can’t manage the big occasion!
(3rd go was an ill-fated burn based on a wrong assumption about what the word could be.)
1g 1y
2g 1y
1g 1y...
I see the course record at Augusta is -9. There's a fair chance one of us might break - or at least match - that...
Better get on to Golf Digest, CAM!
Many happies, Brammers!
Similar process to today’s other birdies. Came down to two possibles for the third go and luck was with me again:
2y
1g 2y
5g
Still have a sneaky feeling I'm going to be pipped at the post by you or somebody else with a big score!
