So many to choose from Chalky.

Once I had a secret love
That lived within the heart of me
All too soon my secret love
    Became impatient to be free
So I told a friendly star
The way that dreamers often do
    Just how wonderful you are
And why I'm so in love with you
Now I shout it from the highest hills
    Even told the golden daffodils
At last my heart's an open door
And my secret love's no secret anymore

There was some great singalong songs in the movie as you know howoldboy but Secret Love was just sublime,I didn’t even know that it was from the movie so it was a suprise when it popped up near the end

The thing is that if there’s something that I enjoy then I tend to look at a bit deeper into it and was disappointed to see that she was a prozzie in real life, that’s Calamity Jane not Doris Day but it can work the other way round, after enjoying Rebecca I googled Daphine de Maurier and instead of the Agatha Christie old lady lookalike I found a good looking flapper from the 30’s(?)

Despite her sweeter than sugar persona, the actor Oscar Levant once said that he knew her before she was a virgin. One of my favourite lines ever.

Doris Days son was the record producer Terry Melcher who was friends with Charles Manson and was renting the infamous murder house just before Roman Polanski,if Melcher hadn’t lived there then Manson would probably never have known about Polanski living there as he called in to see Melcher after he had moved away and history would have changed
