    change needed at the top

another season is upon us another new manager, another dissapointing season has passed and over all the years the commitee has never changed much?? a few tweeks and side steps here or there but the same old faces at the helm i think new faces and new ideas are needed or is this board structured on fifa/ blatter proportions. they have taken the club to dead end probably why sheerin jumped ship now we have EL WINGNUT whos no done much first game a 7-0 drubbing heres hoping a one off

    Disagree.
Not many people would set aside their time to run a football club never mind in their spare time and for free. Club has financial stability, which is more than most.

PS was given the time to build for next season when he could have easily been shown the door during and at the end of the season. He then signed a few players before handing in his resignation to join a club on a full time basis.Certainly nothing we can offer could better that.

New manager met the players on wednesday before playing their first game on Saturday. Played against a team that are:
    1) Full time
    2) have already played two games
    3) put a full strength team out
    4) playing in europe on Thursday so players looking to stake a place.

Ridiculous to even consider that result as any omen for the season ahead.

You appear to be a bit dim.

    "no done much?"
    Unbelievable!
Moore has been in post less than a week and had one training session with the team. Only 11 of them at that.
Sheerin certainly didnt leave because of the board, its exactly the same board who appointed him and showed more patience with him than any other board would have done.
The match against aberdeen was obviously at their request, to give them match practise. It certainly does not suit a part time team whose first compeditive match is over a month away.

Absolute nonsense. The board may not be perfect but they showed Sheerin loyalty over a tough last year. They were also hugely instrumental in our first championship win by finding the funds to allow Sheerin to make the changes after a tough start to that season and sign players who would previously have been well out of our budget range.

'Another season another manager' - hardly prolific turnover in management.. Had the second (?) longest serving manager in the country before he moved on to better things.

Our committee isn't a closed shop like some club boards... If somebody wants to volunteer they can be elected onto the board by the members.. Ie the fans (shareholders), not the directors. Unless willing to put ourselves forward to take on a thankless task, feel we should support the board for what they do.

If you feel so strongly docsandskinners why don't you put yourself forward for election to the board?. If you show yourself as a credible alternative then you should get some support from the shareholders.

I think you've captured the key issue maroonie - more crudely, put up or shut up.

I think AFC seems to have solid governance, respected volunteers willing to give time and effort to the cause - for which they deserve full credit

But d&s may have a point in the sense that introducing more dynamism into the managing group would certainly be welcome. There are positive examples from other lower league clubs where AFC could be doing more - for example in income generation.

The key challenge however is HOW - how to attract additional committed (ie not in it for their own agenda) and talented individuals who could do more.

I would like to see a voucher system in place for local schools to encourage kids to go to the home games.

am all for encouraging kids to attend games, but when Motherwell were letting kids in for a quid, all they did was roam round, cause mischief and just be a nuisance
