What is a Content Encoding Error and why is it stopping this site from working?

Does everybody get it or is it just me?

I get it regularly. Using Chrome as my browser (Safari is default) seems to have fewer issues.

This site appears to be down quite a few times a day currently.
I look at the hat if it's down.
That place makes you feel you need an eye bath after a few reads.
There are some real "characters" who seem to go off at the slightest provocation.
Maybe it's just banter.

I don’t want to go full-blown geek on this explanation but the short answer is you can do nothing about it so switching browsers doesn’t help, the problem is server side.

The content is described by the server as one type e.g. audio but is, in fact another, e.g. text. So, your browser is expecting neeps but gets tatties instead.

Why the settings on the server side have been changed, I have no idea, Perhaps a system upgrade with different default settings, or compression has been enabled to ‘improve’ page load performance, but that’s where it has to be fixed.

Aye banter is fine but the amount of unchecked racism isn’t.
Occasionally look on there for streams and it’s everywhere.
As for the guy poodler who gets off at hinting at pedophilia - incredible no one has tracked him down and smacked him one.

I can’t access this site much of the time either. Still wouldn’t sign up for the Hat if you paid me. Judge anyone who does.
