Paul Conway press conference on taking over at Barnsley in December 2017-

"So we're really happy to be here(I bet you are) Our other businesses are in media, hospitality and entertainment and we got into European football in June of last year and we bought OGC Nice in France and for us, it was a very similar situation at Barnsley where they're a team with a good tradition, passionate fanbase, great head coach and just needed some help on the commercial side, needed some help on the internationalisation of the club". "Our philosophy towards football is to be very disciplined(Bullshyte) just like in Nice we keep a balanced budget but we believe with our other resources, we can drive revenue to clubs. (That's going well Paul) We can improve the fan experience ( )We can enhance a club that has a good academy and we can further enhance that and what we did with Nice was dramatically enhance the revenue of the club in our first year. (Aye by selling all their best players) With that increase in revenue we complemented the squad, we built a new academy and training facility, we improved the fan experience and also the team performance" (They dropped like a stooan till tha sold club)

"So we're gonna keep a similar motto here at Barnsley. We're gonna be disciplined, (so tha teks art a 3 million covid loan)we're gonna balance the budget (Bullshyte) we're not gonna do anything crazy (You can say that again! Thy ent put a penny in and tha never intends to. Only crazy thing thaz done is to put us in deep financial shyte by signing foreign no marks like Obbi & Iseka on championship wages. Thaz also left us wi a squad that isn't worth a great deal of money) but we want to grow the club year on year" (Yes Paul but we find ourselves in big debt, crowds are down and we are a division below from when you and your mates took over the club 5 years ago.)

"Our goals are very simple- We want to stabilise the club in the championship, (Epic fail- Since their takeover we've been twice relegated and had one of the worst seasons in our entire history in 21/22) enhance the fan experience, (Oh dear ) deepen the squad (Aye by signing sub standard players) and our belief is through the commercialisation and internationalisation of the team, everyone will benefit, the club , the fans and the town" (Aye oreight Paul- We can't even gerra decent deal on a bloody shirt sponsor )
