    O/T Our Disunited Kingdom.

Following the Brexit referendum two years ago strong views were expressed by both Brexiteers and Remainers regarding the result. I assumed the strength of feelings would diminish with the passage of time, in fact they have increased to a degree that we can no longer be described as a united nation. Scotland clearly voted to remain, while the rest of the kingdom voted Brexit. On a social level the referendum vote has exposed the inherent degree of racism which exists in our country contrary to the myth we believed of being a tolerant nation. Meanwhile the vote itself seemed to be a protest agaist our economicaly divided nation. Politically the divisions are there for us all to see. Both main parties are divided. The Cabinet is split down the middle while Labour sits firmly on the fence. At least thats what their official position is, in reality polls show that 75% of MP's are remainers but put their careers before what they think is in the best interests of the country. Meanwhile foreigners are fleeing, care homes are emptying of staff, fruit and vegetables are lying unpicked in the fields, doctors and nurses are leaving our hospitals severely understaffed while plumbers and builders are returning to Poland. Hopefully the dynamic European duo down at Oakwell are not returning to Germany.
The next few months are going to be the most politicaly difficult we have experienced since WW2. I don't think Parliament will agree to the hard Brexit the Tories are planning. The MP,s will have a vote on the proposed agreement if the Cabinet ever reaches one. If the Government can't win the Parliamentary vote and Mrs May carries on insisting the people can't have a second vote we have deadlock. What then? Another General Election or a revolution? Thanks a bunch David Cameron!
