    Baines And Pienaar Boost Boss.

Roberto Martinez has highlighted the way Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar resumed their left-sided partnership as one of the major plus points to take out of Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Leicester City.

Pienaar spent two months on the sidelines towards the end of last season with a knee injury before returning to fitness in time for the final day trip to Hull City.

The South African has featured prominently for the Blues throughout pre-season and linked-up with Baines to create Steven Naismiths' goal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Martinez told evertontv: “There were moments when the two combined extremely well. The two found each other in good spaces and when they do that they bring a completely different dimension to our attacking play."

"The goal came from a good move down the left-hand side. There were another couple of moments where we couldn’t take advantage of that good football that we played between Leighton and Steven."

Seen he was training, but no other update.

Martinez also confirmed that Darron Gibson wasn't involved at Leicester as part of the ongoing management of his return from injury.

But Seamus Coleman is now ready to start games and Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo are progressing well.

The manager added: "Darron is working really well and is building some better fitness levels. We need to make sure after a long spell on the sidelines that all the work we are doing is allowing him to be fully fit.

"It's going to be a very, very busy period in September and everything is working towards that month where Darron can be fully fit and he can have a really good period on the pitch, so it's not a problem at all with Darron.

"Arouna has already been working with the team and sometimes joining in with 11-a-side situations, which is very promising. But he still needs a bit of time to adapt to the physicality and the needs of the competition.

"Bryan is slowly getting stronger and he

Nice to be getting news on Bryan Oviedo; just hope he can recapture the brilliant form he was in before the injury
