Curle has done very well with Hanford. Although since Curle took over there has been a decreasing number of threats on our goal, Hanford has shown one significant aspect of being a decent goalkeeper. With the score at maybe 1 - 0 to us and having nothing difficult to do for maybe half an hour Hanford has suddenly had to deal with a substantial goal threat. It could easily become 1 - 1 with the opposition now seriously boosted. Hanford has made the save.
The goalkeeping situation does look a bit frail but Curle leaves nothing to chance. I believe that he has almost certainly had a word with a couple of clubs and got a choice between a couple of decent goalkeepers ready to come in immediately on loan if Hanford gets injured. Meanwhile Hanford's confidence has not been kicked in the gonads by any panic measures being taken. Gillespie will do very well to get his place back.
