I 100% agree with you. Not only was it one of the worst decisions I have ever seen, more importantly, it means we are losing a player for two games, at a time we need every experienced player we have.
A shocking decision yesterday from Willie Collum. If he thinks it was deliberate handball then he is on a different planet to the rest of us. Although he did not deny us a point (we probably we would not equalised anyway) he did deny us the right to fight for one.
He can however redeem himself, even at this stage, by correcting his decision in his written report and admitting to making an error. That will make our job of appealing much easier.
If he does not admit to making an error, and we all make them, then I would ask him to advise all defenders in similar situations how they can avoid breaching the laws of the game, when a fiercely driven point blank shot comes at them at arm/shoulder/chest height.

Am sure an appeal will be successful. If the Panel have access to the TV pictures, it's a stick-on to be successful. The Ref however, had an instant to call it.
Perhaps further evidence that a TMO should be on hand to assist with margin penalty box calls in top flight games.
I don't think a appeal will be successful, as Colum had a clear view of the incident. If they ruled against him, they would have to take action against him (Possibly dropping him from top games for a couple of matches). IMO they will not do that. Not only would they have to accept that he got it wrong to send him off, but also that it was NOT a penalty. They could not even drop it to a yellow card as that would still imply it was deliberate. So they would have to come to the conclusion he was wrong on both points.Originally Posted by Yazz
The 'Herald' reporter who covered our game clearly thinks that the McManus decision was ridiculous. He also draws attention to Collum's recent record in awarding penalties / dishing out red cards, which far outstrips anybody else's. Must be worth a look by the authorities.
There was a suggestion in the Davie Cooper on Sunday that our club may have asked for the Accies game to be stopped. Has anybody else heard that one? What actually are the rules on floodlighting failure? Who decides? Have games at Fir Park not been abandoned / stopped because a pylon failed?
I think we would have been even more of a laughing stock, if he had abandoned it at our request.
