Do we need to get over ourselves?

We had our say and many on here did not want Warney as manager .............. but he is.
Many don't want Barker as his assistant ......................... but he will be.

I think it is time we call a halt to all things negative regarding Warney tbh. Warney was not my choice either and I will have a problem when the Barker appointment is confirmed. But what do we do? Saturdays are Millers days and as always, we have to suck it up and hope for better things.

Nothing can be as bad as this season and personally, I don't think we will go through the trap door to L2. We have to start building a future and maybe this is the start. There is no way TS can fund a Championship campaign, that has been proven 3 seasons on the trot.

In L1, we will be competitive, it may take Warney some time but remember, many of us were calling for our new manager to be in situ asap so he could assess the squad. Well, as it happens the new manager has had plenty of time to suss things out. So we will hit the ground running next season assuming the recruitment drive in the close season materialises and TS has said it will. It will not take us long to see if there was truth in the statements made.

Tony Stewart maybe this that and the other. Whatever he is or isn't, he will be in charge of this club at least until the RU Estates loan is cleared and for me it means he will be resident for the next 10 years or so. I am not saying we have to behave like Radio Dee Dar when it comes to TS but I am saying there is no other option than to hope Warney can do a decent job for us.

The much bigger problem will come if he does actually succeed next season in say reaching the play offs and winning them. We are not equipped for the Championship yet. I suspect we are like a boxer who has just taken a KO. Needs time to get his balance, thoughts and head cleared. I see us as being somewhat similar. We need time to recover. It will be interesting to see exactly how much time trigger happy Tony gives Warney if things set off poorly.

Sorry, Pete, hadn't read yours when I opted for the boxing analogy. But continuing the theme, most of us seem to have cleared our heads very quickly and got up off the canvas, 'the more they try to put us down the more we'll rise again...'. Don't know why but I've discovered a little lost optimism today

Nice post Pete. Agree with all you say. A lot also may depend who comes down with us and Wigan.

Let's not forget we nearly lost our club.

I don't believe we are anywhere near that stage again and hopefully never will be. I'll be there supporting the team but if Warney cocks up i will let him know.

Your officially the manager now Warney so expect the fans to get on your back when it's not working out .

    I'll always be a MILLER
