The whole situation is tedious. What is wrong with the bloke? Why will he not play or sign dedicated full backs ?
To be fair though i'd rather see Brunt play at left back than a centre half.

I think the "problem" is how well Dawson & Hegazy have done at CB.

On 1 hand TP will (hopefully) be thinking that with Evans, Dawson, Hegazy & G-Mac he may need a LB rather than another CB.

On the other hand he also knows that Hegazy has not yet been tested against a top team & G-Mac may have gone 1 season too far (although we have been saying that for about 3 years!!), so another CB may come in useful.

Personally I would rather get a LB (?Gibbs £12m), plus Marc Wilson (£1M) as a squad player, but would it would leave us needing to get a top quality CB (?Sakho £30m) if we lose Evans.
