    Boozing At The Match

Sunday night when JLO's on nights as she is right now I usually find myself watching Serie A games , French league , La Liga and the German Bundesliga .

Watching the fans nearly all these league's allow you to watch the match with a beer in your hand .

Nar then , alright most of europe the fans dont travel in great numbers , Valencia had about 50 inside the Bernabeau tonight .

However the Germans do , Schalke had a massive following at Hanover today and they are all enjoying a beer .

In England we can buy a pint in the ground before the game and at half time but never during the game and neither can we drink it at our seat .

    Why ?

What difference does it make , this is bullshyte , if you go to the Rugby League you can have a beer watching that , don't think there isn't any bother at Rugby League because there is .

Cricket , Rugby Union and yesterday at York hosses there were folk stumbling abart all over oil , these are the same folk who go to football ffs .

Seriously I don't get it , think about it , why should football fans not be able to watch the game with a beer ?

    Anybody agree ??

I saw a steward at Oakwell take a can of Pepsi off a woman and what looked like her grandson at the Sunderland game. Wtf is that all about ?? Is a can of pop now classed as an offensive weapon in the hands of a child. If that's where we're at then we are way off allowing drinking alcohol in games.

This Nanny state , absolute boloxs , winds me up no end . Cans of pop or no tops on your bottle of pop. Don't know which is most pathetic.

I've never known fans of any other sport who are treated with so much contempt by police , stewards , clubs and the governments on many levels .

I'm almost certain you can watch Reccas with a pint but not two miles down the road at Oakwell , wtf is that all about ?

Why shouldn't you be able to get a beer especially on a nice day like saturday and take it to your seat to enjoy ?

In america at baseball they bring it to you while you watch the action , anything you want , hotdog , pizza etc etc

They should start treating fans like proper customers the feckers tickets are expensive enough .

    Couldn't agree more lads.

There's a stigma where football fans are concerned. There always will be. They must remember that it's the small minority who cause trouble and the vast majority can behave in a civilized manner. I think these petty rules serve to antagonize people.

The authorities never learn, they continue to tar all football fans with contempt. It's about time it changed because all other aspects of football have changed massively in the last 25 years, unfortunately some things haven't and probably never will.

Thaz wrong theer mate. Stewards at Wembley did a tremendous job for a full 10 mins holding back some millwall idiots until plod arrived. I can admit freely that I had the same attitude as you until I witnessed their acts that day. How many of us, in their position, with hand on heart could've instead said fuq that, a dunt get paid enough fo this sh1t?

Next time the 6 nations are on Pass & Move notice how many fans at these matches are all watching the game with a beer , nobody drinks more than Rugby fans before the match and yet ......

Wakefield v Cas at Rugby League the other week , real derby game , proper dislike between the fans and they are all watching the action enjoying a beer on a nice summers night , change the shape of the ball and tha can't , wtf !!!

We are worried about potential trouble they say , oh aye like when Sky says kick off at 5.30pm on a saturday evening home to Leeds and everybody's being art since 12 bells , bollox .

If somebody challenged this shyte on a discrimination ticket in the courts they'd win hands down guys .

in rugby the fans mix they do have home and away ends but in general they mix without any trouble

it will be a long cold day in hell before that happens in football.

All true yorkshireborn but it does kick off now and again , Hull FC and Hull KR's fans are notorious .

Then again football fans share pubs before the game with no bother , walk to the ground together and are all let out afterwards , there are incidents but nowt like years ago .
