What is a “ proper fan “?

Somebody who supports their club to the hilt,either by attending matches or watching/listening to their team if unable to attend..Also to understand the game and is able to debate football with fans of other clubs without prejudice and listen to their thoughts as well as give opinions on his own club without falling out..

What is a “ proper fan “?

In my case it's an imaginary fan modelled on the lines of Claret Tony, who I use to wind other fans up, some of whom would like to think they are proper fans, but aren't quite.

In reality he doesn't exist, there's no such thing.

If a fan supports something - then if there's a proper type - it's one that wouldn't drift to another. imho.
