Hecky recently said ‘exciting times ahead for Barnsley’

He also said ‘he hated Leeds’.

So what the hell has happened here???!!!

He’s been given a short term 18 months contract at Leeds - a club he hates and a club that is financially poorer than Barnsley.
Can anyone make any sense of what has happened here - because I can’t ???

Yes , he's gone to a far bigger club with ambition who are allegedly paying him 30k a week .

Sorry to hear that you have lost your manager. There just doesn't seem to be any loyalty in football anymore. He seemed to be doing a good job and your new owners may have backed him in the transfer market. He may live to regret his decision.

Maybe he doesn’t think he’s up to keeping Barnsley in the championship?

In other words is he a bottler ?

Easier job at Leeds everyone else has failed so imo not as much pressure for him.

No he's not a bottler Yak , there's a lot more to this than we will probably get to know .

Things haven't been right for a while down there , not the same bloke this season .

Alarm bells started ringing with respect to Hecky after the Rotherham debacle. I knew then sumat had changed. I thought he could have handled that better. Although I could see why he was fuming after what had transpired in january.

What do you mean when you say ‘a far bigger club’?
As I said on Radio Sheffield last night - Barnsley owners can buy and sell Leeds, Sheffield United and Wednesday over 30 times.
Barnsley is far more wealthier than Leeds.

Let me put it another way - which is the bigger club Burnley or Leeds???
Which of those 2 clubs is likely to win the race to sign a player?

All what Leeds have got is bigger attendances.
Which has come about because they have traditionally spent much much more money at Leeds compared to Barnsley.
But that is now on the brink of reversing.
Hecky knows that - so why leave?

Maybe Hecky felt things had gone stale too and just wanted a change.

So going on that logic , PSG are bigger than Barca , Real Madrid , Man City and Man Utd then ?

Money guarantees nothing. Most middle to large to clubs have backers now. So much so that it doesn't matter as much as it used to and it's back down to personal preference. Had we been higher up the table. I doubt we'd av' struggled so much in the transfer window. That's in the past now.
