Jeremy Hunt our new Foreign Secretary

Jeremy Hunt made such a good job of the NHS and social care as Health Secretary that he has been promoted to take over from Boris as Foreign Secretary.

    Prepare for war!

    Who with?

Remain has taken control of the Cabinet. EU worried it’s a hard Brexit. Pound falls.

Even on the slowest of slow days, Jeremy Hunt is hardly worth a thread on our messageboard. What on earth are you thinking 59/60, have you no mountains to climb ?

Pound falls, exports rise, balance of payments improves.

    I thought it newsworthy anyway.

Here is a bloke who has been in charge whilst the NHS and social care services have been in crisis.

Staff in the NHS/social care see him as inept.

Yet he gets promoted to one of the key posts in Government.

That's par for the course in Theresa's world.

He was already holding one of the key posts in government anyway, and he is replacing Boris, so the bar's not set very high is it ?

I would think 99.9 % of staff in the NHS/Social Care wouldn't have a clue whether he's inept or not, his civil servants might know, but your average nurse, midwife or ambulance driver wouldn't. And besides, the NHS may well be in trouble, but it's not down to one minister's competence or otherwise, there's a little bit more to it than that.

The NHS will never have enough money as the elderly population grows, babies as young as 22 weeks kept alive to become lifelong NHS users, patients can be cured of many diseases and conditions for extortionate amounts of money while some people can’t be bothered to attend clinics or discharge themselves early with no penalty.
It’s a case of managing expections of users with the expectations of taxpayers and the skills of staff for whatever government is in power.
